   Get Ready Planet Connections: I’m Directing a Play for MTWorks

   I was just asked to direct a play for MTWorks, for their show in the Planet Connections theatre festival in June. The play is Good, Lonely People by Carol Carpenter - the winner of the MTWorks’ Newborn Festival.

   To say I’m eternally stoked is an understatement!  :-)

   And it goes a little somethin’ like this…

   So I am trying to re-read Othello again (cough, Oberon auditions, cough) and I’m thinking it will be interesting if I get to work on it, since it’s been so damn long since I’ve done any Shakespeare…but some of what sticks in my mind IS from Othello.

   I just have to remind myself that I have to always do Shakespeare’s text as myself - not some esoteric idea of what it is. Ah, but to have been acting these past few months instead of recovering from illness/surgery, and only teaching and directing! Actually, I love doing that too, so issall good, yo.
